“Yanick is currently the Disaster Risk Officer at the United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction Regional Office for the Asia-Pacific. He is a leading contributor to the co-working group of the United Nations Issue-Based Coalition on Building Resilience, with a focus on strengthening the integration of health emergencies into disaster risk reduction. Another responsibility in Yanick’s portfolio is co-leading the Asia-Pacific Disaster Displacement Working Group, bringing together 40 members from the United Nations, international organizations, academia, and NGOs. The group prioritizes the UN Secretary-General’s Action Agenda on internal displacement, which is also calling for support from governments and the international community to enhance health systems in areas impacted by internal displacement, with a focus on ensuring the safety and accessibility of health facilities. Yanick has more than 20 years of international experience in international relations, management, project implementation, partnership building, and networking, with a focus on UN coordination, UN programme development, and the implementation of the Sendai Framework and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”
